Billing and plans

The trial, what free covers, and what happens to your data if you stop paying.

In short

Every account starts on a Premium trial, then falls back to a free plan that keeps working. Nothing is deleted when a plan ends.

The trial

Every new workspace starts with a 7 day trial of Premium, with nothing to enter up front. A banner appears in the last few days so the end does not surprise you.

What free covers

The free plan is a real plan, not an expired state. It covers 3 active jobs and 1 person, and the core loop works: build estimates, track spending, categorize it, and print a project statement.

Templates do not count toward the job limit, because a template is structure rather than work in progress. Archiving a finished job frees its slot.

Premium adds the things that scale the work: more jobs, more people, sending proposals for signature, bank feeds, imports, receipt attachments and the 1099 report. The pricing page has the current comparison and the exact prices.

Upgrading

Upgrade from billing settings. Payment is handled by Stripe, so card details never reach this app. Monthly and annual are both available, and annual is cheaper per month.

Managing a subscription

The same page links to the billing portal, where you can change the card, switch between monthly and annual, download invoices, and cancel.

Cancelling schedules the change for the end of the period you have already paid for rather than cutting you off immediately, and the page shows the date Premium actually ends.

What happens when a plan ends

Nothing is deleted. If you drop to free while over the limits, existing jobs stay, and their history, documents and transactions stay with them. What you lose is the ability to add past the free limits and the Premium-only features.

Note

This matters for job costing specifically. The value of these records is that they go back years, so a plan change is never allowed to destroy them.

If a payment fails

Stripe retries a failed card for a while, and Premium keeps working during those retries rather than switching off on the first failure. Update the card from the billing portal and access continues uninterrupted.
