When something looks off

Common questions

Duplicate charges, expired links, plan limits, and the other things that come up in the first month.

In short

Short answers to the things that come up most in the first month of using the app, with a pointer to the longer guide for each.

The same charge appeared twice

Imports and bank syncs both check for charges you already have, matching on date, amount and vendor. Re-running the same sync is safe.

Two cases slip past that check, and both are honest duplicates rather than bugs: the same purchase captured once by the bank feed and once by hand with a different vendor spelling, and a statement imported twice after the rows were edited. Delete whichever copy is wrong. Deleting is reversible.

Signing links expire, and sending a new proposal revokes any earlier one for that job so a client cannot sign a stale version. Both cases show the client a plain message rather than a broken page.

Send a fresh proposal and the new link supersedes the old one. See proposals and signing.

I hit a limit

The free plan covers 3 active jobs and 1 person. Templates do not count against the job limit, because they are structure rather than work in progress.

Every account starts with a 7 day trial of Premium, so you will usually meet these limits after the trial rather than on day one. See billing and plans or the pricing page.

Can I use this without connecting a bank

Yes, and plenty of people do. A bank feed is one of four ways to get spending in, next to file import, pasting from a spreadsheet, and typing a charge directly. The estimate and proposal side of the app does not touch your bank at all.

Someone else needs access

Invite them from team settings. Roles decide who can change team settings, and every workspace keeps at least one owner.

Can I delete a job

Jobs can be archived when the work is done, which keeps the history and takes them out of your active list. Deleting is aimed at mistakes rather than finished work, since a finished job is the record of what you charged and what it cost.

Where do I see what changed in the app

The what's new page lists user-facing changes, newest first.

Tip

If a number rather than a feature is confusing you, start with when numbers do not match. It covers the rules behind almost every figure that looks wrong at first.
