Setup
Company and branding
Your company details, logo, and the defaults every client document inherits.
In short
Settings holds the details that appear on client documents, plus the defaults each new proposal, statement and draw sheet starts from.
Settings is where you set the things clients see and the defaults every new document starts from. It is worth ten minutes once, because everything downstream inherits it.
Company details
Your company name, address, phone, email and licence number appear in the header of proposals, project statements and draw sheets. Fill them in before you send anything, since a proposal with a placeholder company name is the kind of detail clients notice.
Logo
Upload a PNG, JPEG or SVG. It appears on every client document alongside your company details. Keep it reasonably small; a logo scaled down from a huge file just costs your clients loading time on the documents you send them.
Document defaults
Proposals, project statements and draw sheets each have a set of display options: which columns appear, whether line items are itemized or collapsed to a category total, whether fee percentages are spelled out, and whether the page prints portrait or landscape.
Setting them here makes them the default for new documents. Any individual job can still override them.
Note
Changing a default does not rewrite a proposal you already sent. Sent proposals are frozen on purpose, which is what makes a signature mean something. See proposals and signing.
Appearance
Light and dark mode, and how wide the app runs on a large screen. These are per person rather than per company, so changing them affects only your own view.
Connections
Settings is also where you connect a bank feed and where you generate the calendar subscribe link. Those are covered in transactions and the inbox and schedule and calendar.
